Eno Commons is an intergenerational cohousing community in Durham, NC, nestled along the Eno River, where neighbors of all ages come together to learn, share their unique skills and gifts, and build a life rooted in connection. Eno Commons residents take turns cooking weekly community dinners in our shared Common House. Regular work days bring residents together to care for the land, Common House, shared tool barn, organic community garden and other shared infrastructure. Special activities for all ages are woven into the fabric of the community, including our cherished Halloween event called EnoWeen. Spontaneous dance parties, campouts in the meadow, art-making, and campfires on the plaza create opportunities for joyful connection throughout the year. We share resources to reduce consumption and support one another, especially in times of need. We govern our community with a non-hierarchical, consensus-based model, and we value equity, inclusion, children, and the shared work of living well together. This is a small community where every member’s contribution counts towards creating the world we want to live in.
