The vulture and the cat
This photo was taken from a neighbor's bedroom window.We recently added fence posts and wire to protect our community's veggie garden from deer. This morning three turkey vultures landed on the fence posts and rested there for a while. (Perhaps they were soaking up the sun or maybe they were enjoying the odors from our compost bins.)
One of the vultures kept looking down and restlessly shook it's wings out. A cat was standing up at the bottom of the fence trying to chase it away. From its protected position, the turkey vulture seemed to look on in amusement.
The cat finally gave up and moved on to the other two vultures and those were scared away more easily.
